No room for ‘vacation players’ in Eagles camp – Rohr

Super Eagles Technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has announced that he will no longer invite players he describes as “vacation players”.
“Some players have been invited for two matches namely; the Nations Cup qualifier against Tanzania and the World Cup qualifier against Zambia in Ndola which the Super Eagles won 2-1 but were unable to pick first team shirt on both occasions and we cannot keep on inviting them. Now, we wish to invite fresh players to do what they could not do,” Rohr said.

“The time is gone when a player comes for two matches, collects bonuses, allowances and ticket refund and does not measure up. You know we are building up a new team and the best way to do it is to use good players who are playing regularly for their teams and are ready to give us the desired result.
The Super Eagles will play the Desert Warriors of Algeria in November 12 in their second match of the ongoing Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier, the match will take place in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
